Kenny Lemes
Kenny Lemes is a Cuban photographer based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Kenny's potent work subverts narratives of identity through the notion of queerness, to show those bodies that challenge the values that structure Western ideals: patriarchy, heteronormativity, whiteness. Kenny Lemes' work powerfully brings into conversation the idea of the multiplicity of life experiences as a constant in contemporary art. His work illuminates zones that seem not to exist for what he himself defines as "the normality police", and in doing so performs a political act of great importance, that of expanding worlds and generating infinite possibilities for who we are as human beings.
