Under The Same Sun

Curated by Gabriela Román González

With works by Asafe Ghalib

Presented by Not The Owners and CASA at Brixton House, as part of Acts of Looking, the final chapter of Lines of Flight, CASA’s year-round multi-arts programme.

4–30 November 2026

Under the Same Sun is an ongoing photographic project by Asafe Ghalib exploring queer migration, belonging and the complex ways in which ideas of home are carried and remade across borders.

Through intimate portraits and personal narratives, Ghalib brings together individual experiences of migration and belonging, creating space for stories that are often overlooked or reduced to broader narratives about identity and displacement.

First presented in London at Somers Gallery, Under the Same Sun continues to grow through Ghalib’s photographic practice. For this presentation at Brixton House, earlier works were brought together with a new body of photographs, expanding the project and opening new connections between its stories.
